David Pierce


David Pierce was born in Albuquerque and lived in El Paso before graduating high school in Anaheim, California in 1975. Mr. Pierce graduated from the California State University at Fullerton with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in 1980. Mr. Pierce attended Georgetown University Law School, from which he graduated in 1984. He was a member of the American Criminal Law Review at Georgetown.


In 1984, Mr. Pierce joined the litigation section of the Scott Hulse Law Firm in El Paso. Mr. Pierce worked at Scott Hulse for 20 years. For the first several years, he tried an assortment of worker's compensation, car accident and slip-and-fall cases. Mr. Pierce was made a partner with the firm in 1989.


In 1990, Mr. Pierce became board certified in personal injury and civil trial law by the Texas Board of Specialization. Mr. Pierce joined the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1996. In 1997, Mr. Pierce became a member of the New Mexico Bar


Meanwhile, Mr. Pierce's practice took a more commercial turn. Mr. Pierce has handled real-estate litigation, including broker-commission claims, contract disputes, officer and director litigation, minority shareholder disputes, commercial insurance claims, bad-faith claims, will contests and construction claims. Mr. Pierce has defended employment claims and continues to do some personal injury defense.


In 2005, Mr. Pierce left Scott Hulse and started his own firm. The Pierce & Little firm just celebrated its sixth anniversary and now includes five lawyers. The firm practices commercial litigation, including certain cases on contingency. The firm also assists with will contests, employment matters and certain transactional and probate work.


Mr. Pierce was named a Super Lawyer for commercial litigation by Texas Monthly in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
